Born in Lisbon and shaped between Angola, Portugal and Cape Verde.

Born in Lisbon in 1983, André Cardiga spent part of his childhood in Cape Verde before moving to Angola. That movement between places still sits close to the music. Later he returned to Lisbon, studied Marketing Management and completed Advanced DJ training at Point Blank Music School in London.

Across recording work, KULAS has released through Kazukuta Records in Angola, We Play Acid in Portugal and Brise Records in Germany. In 2018 he founded Oluali Records, bringing label work and curation into the same frame as the DJ sets and productions.

The supplied materials also credit recognition at the 2018 Angola Music Awards, two Top Rádio Luanda awards linked to collaborations with Mvula and Irina Vasconcelos, and two consecutive years as a Red Bull Music Academy ambassador. Alongside performance and releases, the work extends into Kings of Afro House, Festival Gastronómico Axi Luanda and Luau Tundavala.
